MARGARET FOMER & HER INSPIRING PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
Since 1974, Margaret Fomer has dedicated her life to empowering youth through her impactful work as a counselor at Denver Girls. Her extraordinary journey led her to become the Executive Director (ED) for Denver Girls and Denver Boys, where she adeptly managed the merged organization, Denver Kids, from 1993 to 2001.
Under her visionary leadership, the organization experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a small team of three employees serving just 70 students to a robust staff of 22 and a thriving community of 605 students by the time she departed in 2008. This extraordinary transformation stands as a testament to her unparalleled commitment and ability to inspire her team and the youth they served.
Thanks to Margaret’s strategic guidance, Denver Kids reduced discipline problems, improved student attendance, and significantly boosted academic achievement. Under her stewardship, graduation rates soared, and more students pursued post-secondary education than ever before.
Furthermore, Margaret’s tenure provided Denver Kids with the remarkable opportunity to manage additional programs that enriched the lives of students across various schools, including the CORPS initiative, which supported schools like North, Manual, Cole, and Columbine, as well as the Class of 1995 project, catering to students from 9th grade onwards. Additionally, she facilitated the Rotary Club of Denver’s Expanding Your Horizons project, which actively engaged students in two middle schools.
Overall, Margaret's profound influence and strategic direction resulted in the empowerment and growth of several thousand students, leaving an indelible mark on the community and inspiring future generations to aim high and achieve their dreams.

Tickets cost $25 per person. You can also sponsor a table for eight people for $400. We will mention your group (business, church, family, etc.) in our newsletter, website, and publicity materials. Tickets include dinner, event presentations, and participation in silent and live auctions. All proceeds will be invested in our children and youth programs.
